It was our first time touring with a 10 year old, but not our first tour by train.Touring rail the wheel fell off. The ‘tour bus’ (suitcase with all the drum stuff in it) lost a wheel, which caused a few problems.Pizza in PerpignanWe got upstairs seats on the train from Perpignan to Paris so we could enjoy the views. We did our tour mostly by train, with a few days of car hire in South France to get to some of the gigs that weren’t accessible by public transport, plus a bus from Perpignan to Barcelona (it was the cheap option). On the return journey from Barcelona to London we stopped at Perpignan overnight which saved us a massive load of ££££ and gave us a chance to explore Perpignan and enjoy a post-tour pizza. We got upstairs seats on the train to Paris which gave us beautiful views for the whole journey. We got creative with luggage (it seems like every bus/rail company has different luggage allowances!) and we took picnics and wine and booked well in advance.
