FREE PALESTINE! OCCUPATION NO MORE!

Rabies Babies have just put a song FREE PALESTINE! OCCUPATION NO MORE! up on Bandcamp

We wanted to put something out in support of the people of Palestine.

The song is free to download from our Bandcamp page.
There is an option to donate if anyone wants, and all proceeds will be passed on to Gaza Sunbirds https://www.gazasunbirds.org/

This is something that is important to me especially. My sister’s husband is Palestinian and his sister lives in Gaza. Recently her and her family travelled south from their home in Gaza City to escape the bombs. They went with just the clothes on their backs, it wasn’t possible to take belongings and it was a long and traumatic journey. Along the way they passed tanks, IDF soldiers and a lot of dead bodies laid in the road. Anyone seen filming with a phone was killed by IDF, any young men were taken and killed. During the journey their 17 year old daughter Basmallah was singled out and taken by IDF soldiers and forced to watch as 4 Palestinian men were made to undress and then were executed. Basmallah was terrified that she would be killed too and is now very traumatised.

My brother’s wife worked as a Human Rights Observer in the West Bank during 2019 and is still in contact with many of the Palestinian friends she met while she was there. The Israeli settlers have increased their violence towards Palestinians and are stealing homes and land at an alarming rate.

Many of the bombs and weapons used to kill, injure and destroy Palestinian lives are made in the UK.

It is our country’s shame that our government is willing to put profit before human lives and it is our duty to shout as loud as we can against injustice.

thanks, Lorna Rabies Babies

It seems like every day we’re hearing about another band, even within our own scene, who have members who have abused or even raped. And yet these abusers and rapists are still supported by their band, by the fans, and by the music press. This song is a crystal clear, in your face reminder for anyone who still needs it, that you can never separate the music from the assholes who created it. Here’s the band saying that better:

“Just because someone is in a band that you like doesn’t mean they are incapable of sexual assault. Too often when men in bands are accused of assault the victim is called a liar, blamed, and…
